South Charlotte College Advisor

International College Counselors, one of the largest college and graduate school admissions consulting companies in the country, announces the opening of their new South Charlotte office, the company’s 9th location. The expansion aligns with the company’s growth strategy of widening relationships within the Southeastern region.

Nancy Rones Zolotorofe, a South Charlotte resident and Director of College Advising at International College Counselors, will head the South Charlotte office located in Ballantyne’s Toringdon Office Park (3440 Toringdon Way) and develop this new regional operation.

“Charlotte is a dynamic, fast-growing city with incredible geographic access to numerous high-quality colleges, a factor that drives many families to the area. Many Charlotte parents are seeking guidance in navigating the oftentimes confusing, complicated, and increasingly competitive college admissions process, making the decision to expand our presence to the Queen City a logical step,” noted Barry Liebowitz, managing partner of International College Counselors.

Ms. Zolotorofe joins International College Counselors after working for almost two decades as an award-winning writer and editor for top national magazine brands. Now as an independent college counselor, she draws on her solid editorial training to coax out the unique narratives students need to impress college admissions. In line with the company’s team approach, Ms. Zolotorofe collaborates with her fellow advisors on each client as she guides them through all aspects of the college admissions process, from recommending high school courses and summer programs to brainstorming essays. “With our company model, families are technically hiring one independent college counselor, but they are actually benefitting from the expertise of about a dozen advisors with varying specialties,” says Ms. Zolotorofe, who is a member of the Southern Association for College Counseling (SACAC).

A local mother of two teenagers, Ms. Zolotorofe looks forward to guiding high school freshmen through seniors in the South Charlotte area–and beyond–to collegiate success and sharing her expert strategies for admission along the way.
