Florida 2020 Seniors: Apply for the Bright Futures Scholarship

November 12, 2019 by Cheree Liebowitz

The Florida Bright Futures Scholarship is an amazing education funding option for Florida state residents. Florida high school graduates who meet certain high academic achievement standards can receive up to 100% of tuition if they attend a Florida college or university.
The application to apply for Florida Bright Futures is now available online.

Even if you are NOT planning to attend a Florida college, apply for the Bright Futures Scholarship as soon as possible. Remember, no one can predict the future. If you transfer to a Florida college for any reason, this money will be available to you.

This is NOT a need-based scholarship.

How to apply for the Bright Futures Scholarship
STEP ONE
All Florida seniors who meet the requirements should complete the Florida Financial Aid Application (FFAA) in order to qualify for this non-need based scholarship. If you do not register you will not be considered for any of these awards.

To access the Florida Financial Aid Application (FFAA) a student must first create a student account. After logging into your account, you may proceed to complete the FFAA. (See below for further information on creating the FFAA).

STEP TWO
Make sure you send your SAT or ACT scores to a Florida public university.  They will save the results and send them in for Bright Futures.

STEP THREE
Submit your community service hours to your guidance counselor before graduation. Each guidance counselor sets their own deadline to receive them. Please check with your student’s counselor.
